Clint City is brimming with secrets...and to find out just what they are, we're putting together a collection of short stories in digitally produced Comic. The first episode will be followed by a new edition every four or so months. To produce a quality Comic with follow-on editions, we've called upon the help of a whole host of artists, scriptwriters, illustrators and colorists. The Comic will be available for 40 credits, that is 1, 98€, in a new section of the shop. Once you've purchased it, it will be permanently added to your Comics Library. Each story will introduce new characters who will be exclusively available in shortly after the Comic's release, and then widely available two months later in the shop. Hello Urban Rivals players, Recently, we are taking a close look on the Leaders usage.We noticed Bridget isn't played in Survivor, since other Leaders (most notably Vholt) outclass her.She is also banned in ELO and penalised in DT, thus she is ‘almost useless' at the moment. That's why we decided to make a little modification to her stats: Bridget damage drops from 6 to 4, BUT she is now no more ELO banned! We think that now Bridget will have again her own place in the game.We will keep monitoring her usage in the following weeks, to be sure Bridget will be equilibrated in the current ELO meta. Good UR!

In his latest travel report Jason pointed out to Rex Sweig a few abnormalities he'd noted: disappearing tools, incisions and signs of attack on the tank, strange tremors during his stay... But neither he nor his triceratops saw a thing! With Clint City swarming with spies, the report soon became public. A couple of clans even sent out their best assets to investigate these rumors... and never came back! If warriors such as Graksmxxt, Striker, Toro and Ratanah disappear all of a sudden, this begs the question: what is hiding out in the desert? From Monday, December 19th, Graksmxxt, Striker, Toro and Ratanah will no longer be available in the shop's packs. However, players who already own them can continue to use them as normal. Sales of the three characters on the Market will be blocked until the morning of Friday, December 16th.

Rebirth Reform For a few months now, we've been questioning the logic behind “Rebirth” cards and as a result have decided to put things in order. The survey you recently completed clearly showed that the best way to end the RB era would be as follows: - Reform the RBs and revert to the cards' real names replacing the images with new ones. - Put back the old cards in circulation into the packs. - Get rid of the Rainbow pack. The sole aim of creating the RBs was to update the graphics with high-quality images more in line with other creations. Moreover, these are very emblematic cards that were being prevented from being released as Collectors at some stage. For the more senior players among you, who are attached to their original visuals, please don't forget that we have a Pintrest page that will serve as an archive and we're also going to add a 'Museum' tab in which you'll be able to find these images. This decision now makes more sense of all the other card categories (rare, common, unusual, Legendary, Collector) in which the Rebirth cards had not quite found their place. Hi Everyone, For several weeks now, we've been reviewing all the pages of our website. As you may have noticed, we've made improvements to the graphics, added new features and introduced some less visible changes to performance, fluidity, etc. We are currently working on restructuring the collection pro page so you can get the very best from it. To do that, we've taken into consideration the requests you made when we last raised this issue. To sum up, here is what we've reviewed so far: The profile page. The missions' page. The game rules' page. The private messages' page. The personal blacklist. The page on which new characters are announced. The list of guilds. The pack opening page. More news on the home page. The characters' page. These are the biggest changes we've made so far. But alongside that we've also corrected various Bugs and organized numerous events and animations for your enjoyment. As you can see, our focus remains very much on meeting our objectives and delivering our goals. We are currently working on a number of large-scale projects. 1-The collection pro: there is still some work to do in order to implement as many features as possible without compromising on quality or fluidity of play. The most significant optimization concerns the larger collections which are sometimes slow to load. The plan of action for this is now in place and we should soon be able to offer you a version that is more in line with your expectations. 2-The League mode: we are putting a lot of energy and enthusiasm into this game mode as we believe it is one of the key areas in which Urban Rivals can refresh its metagame. An improved ELO mode that will be considerably more rewarding in terms of winnings and interest. 3-Rewarding progression: as things stand, you don't actually gain much from leveling up. Yes, your status improves and you gain in notoriety. However, in terms of rewards, there is little to no recompense. We are planning on changing all that by offering specific rewards each time you level up. 4-Chatting: at the moment we are working on a guild chat and ingame interaction using emoticons. These features should be up and running fairly soon, although I'd rather not offer precise dates just yet. Once these systems are in place, we will then see if it's possible to set up a chat system that will be open to everyone during gameplay. 5-Improvement of the mobile app: a big wave of updates are just about to take place. An update both in terms of ergonomics and stability. All of this will be spiced up with a string of new animations and events, as well as a good few updates that although less visible will be equally significant. So, that's where we are at the moment. We've decided to reawaken this creativity with a graphics competition and to kick-off we'd like to have a look at your Wallpaper designs However, there will be some constraints to ensure everyone has the same chance of winning. From now on, the new temporary missions (including the New Blood and legendary ones) will be known as the “Flash Missions”. The Flash Missions will only be available for a limited period. And you must complete them before the deadline shown to claim your prizes. These are the reasons why we did these changes: All Stars: We wanted to try and restore Marina in order to give the clan a more defensive side in ELO. Striker has been banned in exchange, since the both together would have made the clan too strong. Freaks: One among Arturo and Ramath had to go, since Freaks were played too much. We decided to pick Arturo. Jungo: Jungo were played too much, so we decided to add ginnifer to the ban list. However, since this would have left the clan without pure defensive cards low stars, we also swapped pegh and jean. Montana: This was the most discussed change. This is a test: we restored spiaghi, while banning 2 strong montana cards for mono-decks, moses and avola. We want to try and see if montana can become again a good pick for bi-clan decks. --> IMPORTANT: If Spiaghi will decrease the number of montana decks in room AND if he will be again used mostly as splashed card, we reserve the right to revert this change back at any time, even before the next ban list release! Piranas: One among smokey cr, parmabarb, ursula and lizbeth had to go, since we find the clan a bit too strong. We decided to pick Lizbeth. Rescue: We want to test the return of a very old school card: Elvira. In exchange we banned Reeve, the most picked 5 of the clan and the 5 with the highest winrate for Rescue. If this change will greatly increase the number of rescue decks in room, we will check it again next time. If this change won't change many things for the clan, reeve may return back with no trades next month. Ulu Watu. One among Moai and Streex had to go, since Ulu Watu were played too much. We decided to pick Streex. All the others clan: We thought their playrate and usage was fine and that they can stay as they are for another 4 weeks. Changes to them may be done next time. We discussed other cards often in the players bans (like mama killa or rattle), but we agreed that for now you players can take care of them with your weekly votes. Have fun guys!

Hi Everyone, Here is the list of the most recent bug corrections: [GUILD] The guild bonus connected to the XP reserve wasn't working. [MISSIONS] Old NB missions were not appearing on the new missions' page. [MENU] There was a display problem on the player menu with the guild name appearing twice. [EVENT] It was impossible to generate Faceoffs on the new site. [GUILD/BANK] With this latest update, you will no longer be able to put legendary characters and Leaders in the guild bank. Loaning Legendary characters caused a problem when a player was lent this card to carry out LD missions as the card was not given. We feel it is right that characters that can be obtained without having to purchase them, should be slightly restricted. This then helps to maintain their exclusive status within the game. So, from now on, Rainbow packs will contain: 7 characters For 45 credits no doubles 1 guaranteed rare card 1 rebirth card from all the cards in play. And to celebrate this re-launch, you'll have the chance of getting your hands on Toro RB and Erika RB, if luck is on your side, that is We're also taking this opportunity to readjust the rankings, as we didn't feel that simply owning a Rebirth card was enough to justify having a "Phoenix" ranking. All this seemed to achieve was to complicate players' understanding of the ranking system as, at the end of the day, a Rebirth card is simply an improved graphic of an old card. This added “pressure” to keep hold of a rank that didn't have any real basis, seemed completely pointless, which is why we've decided to get rid of it. Happy gaming to you all!

With just one spin of the wheel and a little bit of luck, a player could strike a far better reward than others who happened to play the wheel several times. By removing the wheel, we are also able to slightly increase the value of Tokenz prizes in every game mode. Currently you can win the following: Rank 1: 20 credits Ranks 2-3: 10 credits Ranks 4-10: 5 credits We realized that this was a little on the low side given the effort it takes to become ranked. So, we're going to try a new and much more rewarding formula. The new winnings will be in place for a week, from Friday September 16th to Friday September 23rd. If the formula seems to work and doesn't pose any major problems, we will either not bother removing it or will adjust it accordingly... Here is a list of those changes: Temporary missions: - automatic removal of temporary missions once they have expired - removal of the system of buying back expired missions - expired missions will no longer earn you mission points - mission points will only concern permanent missions - each player's mission points will be recalculated so they no longer take into account temporary missions - the return of mission points-based ranking Other changes: - the return of LD missions (10 credits will replace winning an LD card you already have) - shortening of NB missions to 3 days and an increase in rewards (the missions will also be quicker to complete) - coming up soon: the addition of new categories of permanent missions - changes to the graphics on the missions page to produce a layout that is both easier to read and use. Have you always dreamt of thrashing a member of staff? If so, then this could be your lucky day. We're organizing an event that will give you the chance to battle it out, on a one to one basis, with the game admins. But remember, still waters run deep and we're not gonna give up easily ;) Details of the rules: To take part in the event, it couldn't be easier: you just need to apply between 2pm and 2.15pm every Friday. The first five applicants will then be accepted and given the chance to win the jackpot. You have to pay 10, 000 Clintz to sign up. Those 10, 000 Clintz will be added to the 50, 000 Clintz that the five admins have already put into the game. The first player who manages to overcome all the admins, walks away with the jackpot. The jackpot will remain in play and increase every Friday until someone manages to beat the admins. Each player is entitled to one go per tournament. If a player is eliminated, he/she cannot have a second go at the same jackpot. They can only play again, once someone has beaten all the admins and a new tournament has begun. And be warned, if you're picked to take part, you'll be given just 10 minutes between each admin to prepare your deck. Hi Everyone, I'm contacting you today on behalf of the company. We felt it was time we clarified certain things regarding the company's situation. We should have done this two months ago, but unfortunately were thrown off course by certain events. I will now do my best to amend this situation. As some of you may know, Boostr has gone through a very difficult period over the past two years. This has gradually led to staff leaving, both of their own accord and not. The company headquarters, which was based in Paris and housed the management team, was then closed down. We could have left things at that, as was the case for Fantasy Rivals recently. However, two members of staff wanted to keep on going, a whole team even. So about two months ago, a company buy-out took place and the head office was moved to Carcassonne. Determined to succeed and full of new ideas, this team now has the difficult task of breathing new life into our good old Urban Rivals. However, the company faces staffing problems: we've gone from 20 or so employees to ten, all dedicated to the various stages of development. For two months now, Florian (Saga) and Arnaud (Goralion) have been the official managers of Boostr. Florian is currently in charge of project management, game design, marketing, graphics and of course administrative management. Arnaud is in charge of technical management, front and back-end development, game design and administrative management. Working alongside them are: Katia (Tykatia), Office manager Hélène (Raquella), Customer support manager: management of support providers, media management, managing translations, support in various languages, German Community Manager and help with the administrative management. Silvano (ChaosDragon88), Game Designer and Level Designer Arcto, Artistic director: artistic direction of illustrators, illustrations and graphics. Gaëtan (darkwingpony), Flash/unity developer: development of UR clients Martin (rattus): graphics Ivana (Quistis): customer support and Portuguese translations Régis (Mac_Leod) Head of communications: relationship management, Community management, Game Design, Level Design and animation. And there you have our team We understand your expectations concerning certain aspects of the game and website, and will endeavor to respond to a number of these requests in our forth-coming updates. However, we are unable to work on multiple projects at once. So, we ask that you bear with us while we find our feet. There are several things we first need to resolve before moving onto more ambitious projects. I think that after what happened on Tuesday when the idea was actually to “offer players more means and also to adjust a parameter that had not been changed for years”, we can conclude that we need to be a bit more rigorous in our approach, even if that means making you wait a little longer. It's disappointing when things don't turn out how one would like them to. But by rushing things, we often achieve the opposite of what we wanted, and that is detrimental to you and us, as well as the game. I will keep you regularly informed of proposed new features, which we hope you will like as much as we do. However, before each major update, we plan to operate differently and inform you BEFORE the update. Please realize, however, that all our projects have a very specific objective, particularly the move from the Flash app to the Unity app that gives us access to game developments that we had hoped Flash might offer us. Integration to the website of a downloadable client is not something we are going to do immediately as the necessary technology is not yet available, and given that the Unity version is more cumbersome, it would have a big impact on download times. I would like to stress that any decisions we take will be primarily based on keeping our players happy. However, we cannot always please all our players, particularly the more senior ones who experienced Urban Rivals' golden age and still hanker after those days (myself included). Urban Rivals was created in 2004 and it is inevitable that now it should undergo some changes: certain steps back will never be possible. GUILD: When a player who had borrowed cards from the bank left a guild, the cards were not automatically returned to the bank. They now will be. FIXED: The sending of emails for password change and account confirmation now works properly. FIXED: Migration complete for the site's search engine. It now works properly again. FIXED: On occasion, new players failed to receive their credits. This has now been corrected and works as it should. DEBUG: The counter for the number of players online and minor corrections to the text on the ELO bans voting page. FIXED: Problems associated with Arcade mode have been resolved. Hello UR players, We have noted an increasing demand for the introduction of a competitive PVP T1 mode. Here are the rules of the T1 format: - Your Deck cannot contain fewer than 8 characters. - The sum of the levels of the characters within your Deck cannot go beyond 25. - Your Deck cannot contain card doubles. This is largely due to many cards being banished from the ELO mode, having a DT penalty and not being strong enough to be played in Survivor T2. Their competitive use is restricted to Coliseums, Leader Wars, players Events (not always available) and the Arcade room which loses its appeal once you have gathered all the prizes. Nevertheless, we are not keen on adding another room to the game for now. If we are to create a Type 1 format, it will have to replace an existing mode. Which is why we have decided to substitute Survivor ELO with Survivor Type 1. Survivor ELO is currently the least popular of all modes. The main reason for this is that it shares the same list of banned characters as the ELO format. This list of banned characters is conceived for a 14 LP / 12 pillz ONLY framework, and not for Survivor. This results in only a few clans dominating the mode which takes all the fun out of playing. We believe that Survivor Type 1 will be far more pleasant to play for everyone and that it will also solve the various issues you reported. The switch from Type ELO to Survivor Type 1 will take place today. Happy gaming!

The arrival of Buddy and XU-b0t, who are more reliable, take more initiative and are more likely to obey orders, has made Mechakolos and Sledg completely redundant. So, the two have decided to leave Clint City, on the search for a place where they might once again be of use. From Wednesday, June 29th 17.00 GMT +2, Mechakolos and Sledg will no longer be available in the shop's packs. However, players who already own them can continue to use them as normal. Sales of the two characters on the Market will be blocked until the morning of Wednesday, June 29th.

We do not want to make the legendary cards really powerful but, due to their uniqueness and rarity, we wish them to be a precious rewards for new players and alternatives to the usual choices for the old ones. Hello Urban Rivals players, Today we are going to reintroduce semievo cards in Elo and Survivor Elo! In short, this rule of the ELO format: Your Deck cannot contain developing characters. Will be replaced by: Your Deck cannot contain level 1 cards. What are “semievo” cards? Semievo is an abbreviation for ‘Semi-Evolved'. Every card can be a “semievo”, but only a few are worth playing in competitive play. For example, Charlie lv 4 is a playable semievo, since she maintains strong stats (7-6) and has an active ability. In addition to the rule change, we have rebalanced the semievo stats of some old, iconic, or interesting cards. Each clan will have a roughly equal number of playable semievo cards. This will allow many opportunities to build new and innovative decks in competitive play, and will encourage each of you to discover the hidden strength of your collection! We modified a small amount of cards for now (around 4 cards per clan), because we want to see if this change will impact the ELO rules in a positive way. If this change will be successful, other cards may be modified to be played semievo in the future. The cards that won't be included in the list will lose their semievo abilities, that will be activated only in the last card level. The market sales of all the cards included in the list will be temporarily stopped until this evening at 18.00 (GMT+2). Good UR!

While the clans have been busy with their usual in-fighting to establish just "who's the toughest in town", the Government has been able to quietly push through a new law particularly affecting the Junkz: from now on, the use of Pillz is strictly forbidden in Clint City and possession of them will go severely punished. This law comes into force as of tomorrow, Saturday April 2nd. From then on, there will no way of acquiring Pillz in Clint City and anyone found in possession of them will be forever exiled from the city. Every nook and cranny of the Junkz squats will be searched by the Sentinel clan. Ever since they came into being, this clan has been in the Government's line of fire, with them having first pounced on their music. Having said this, the President of the Government assures us the new law is not targeted at the Junkz, but rather is a preventative measure "for the well-being of the citizens of Clint City". This is what he said: "Pillz are a real scourge, and as your President, I am going to put a stop to this scourge. We have realized - now prepare yourselves – that Pillz can increase a character's strength... and even augment their damage ability! This is total madness, not to mention illegal! It is out and out cheating! Moreover, several scientific studies have shown that Pillz are bad for your health. Take Taham for example, there's nothing natural about him… Pillz kill, just say no to Pillz". The atmosphere in the Junkz clan is certainly not the best, but their reaction to the law has been more nuanced than one might have imagined: "This is crazy and we're sure not happy about it, but we're not the worst hit, with our bonus, we'll get by. But other clans like the Pussycats are gonna really feel it, not to mention the Vortex and Riots".

Hello Urban Rivals players, During the last week we discussed about how to modify the ELO ban list. But many players pointed out that more radical changes need to be done. This is why we want to do a brief survey with you, proposing 3 ways to modify ELO mode in the future. Based on your choice, we will work in that direction only, so your advice is crucial here.Survey link: http://goo.gl/forms/7x4GSEzfFs Your task is easy: to select option A, B or C. Of course, you are welcome to write your opinions in the comments. Here is a small summary of the 3 propositions: A) ELO with ‘Points' Every card will have a point value between 1 and 25. The stronger the card is, the more points it will have. The points will change every week thanks to an algorithm. It will take many factors into account: how much the card is played, how many times a match is won thanks to that card, and so on. A deck will have a restriction of maximum 25 stars and maximum 100 points. No doubles, no semi-evolved cards. This mode will permit every card to be played in competitive matches. You can decide to pick a rather bad card to be able to play stronger cards. Playing a low-point card like Ricardo, for example, could make space to play a high-point card, like Vickie Cr. The choice of how to balance your deck will be entirely yours, with no cards banned at all. Everything is free… at a price! The algorithm will change the value of the top and less used cards every week, so the format will be in a state of constant evolution. Most importantly, it will be the players who will decide these changes, just by playing in this mode! B) ELO with ‘Banned and Limited cards' The mode will have a list (to be determined) of banned cards. This list will feature only few characters, the most powerful of the game: Jackie Cr, Graksmxxt, excetera. In addition to this little list, a new bigger one will be added: a limited list. Only 1 card among the cards of this second list will be able to be played in your deck. For example, if you include the first card from this list in your deck, you will not be able to add any of the other limited cards. The players votes will remain, but the cards chosen by you won't go in the ‘banned cards list', but in the ‘limited cards list' for that week. C) ELO with ‘Banned cards only' (what we have now) We will keep a ban list only, more or less similar to the one we have now. Adjustments to it will be done every 3/4 months. We may try small changes to the deck format (for example, to limit to one the number of lv 5 cards in your deck, or to modify the number of stars in the deck), but nothing too ‘drastic' like the other two propositions. We have been discussing the updates to ELO and DT. This time, we have decided to divide the live testing into two phases. This week, we will only discuss the new DT penalty list. Since the Leader Wars is now a mode that will be available on a regular schedule, we want to balance the leaders as well as possible. This is why we have decided to make some slight adjustments to them: Morphun:8-5 +1 pillz per round, max 11 -> 8-5 +1 pillz per round, max 10 Solomon: 8-6 Tiebreak -> 8-7 Tiebreak Vholt: 8-5 team: -1 opp. damage, min. 2 -> 8-5 team: -2 opp. damage, min 4 These changes are effective from now on. Feel free to tell us your opinions about them. Further balance changes may be done in the future. PS: We want to remind you that the only cards that can receive modifications to their stats are the Leaders. We think that every card that has been released in the packs is part of the history of the game and it shouldn't be modified. But since the leaders can be obtained free of charge by anyone via their missions, and since they are a crucial part of the Leader Wars mode, changes to their stats may be done from time to time to keep a balance among them.

When Tengu joined the Monastery to be trained, Futoshi never suspected that the latter would leave the famous room wearing that very same mask. He is now more than ever convinced that he must face the luchador in a duel in order to move up the learning curve. For this to happen, he will first have to bring a tower of powerful warriors to their knees before he can reach the ring! Hello, Urban Rivals players! Starting today, we will be making some important changes to Leader Wars and Coliseum. A Leader Wars or Coliseum will be scheduled for each Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. In response to your demand for more access to these play modes, they will be divided into two phases. Monday and Tuesday will be the "casual" phase, with a small entry fee (around 500 Clintz), and moderate prizes. This will be a key period of time to develop your strategy for the "pro" phase, held every Wednesday and Thursday. The pro phase will have a much big entry fee, in clintz or credits… However, this will be offset by big prizes, with proportionate rewards for everyone. Leader Wars will focus on creating a unique meta-game and putting some fun cards to try into the hands of each player. We will start monitoring accurately the metagame, and slight changes to the Leaders may be done from time to time in order to keep a balance among them. Coliseum will feature a small and very controlled card pool, and put your skills as a player to the test! Of course, there will be an opportunity to compete on a Guild level, as well.
