Why should I connect to iClintz and stay connected?
Connecting to iClintz gives you access to lots of interesting and useful tools for you to manage or view information about your collection or rankings. iClintz is built using your player data, for features such as the card rarity, having your collection data increases the accuracy of this rarity, but by no means is 100% accurate, (as the site is powered by a subset of players), so use as guidance only. Your data is not looked at individually by myself and is only used to fuel the averages and calculations the site needs to do. I do not gain access to your account nor email, password, private messages or other sensitive information when you connect. If you change your mind and want your data destroyed from the database, instructions are provided below.
Please note that more than 85% of the website can be accessed without connecting your account, so you don't need to connect to browse at all.
How do you access my account data?
Urban Rivals has an API (provided by Urban Rivals Staff) which utilizes a completely safe authentication protocol known as oAuth to allow 3rd party developers (myself) to obtain non-sensitive data about you. There are limitations to the data which I can access and I only access what is necessary for the site to function. To further understand, please research "oAuth" on YouTube/Google.
What data do you collect about me when I connect?
- Profile Data - Your Player ID, Player Name, Clintz you own and Guild you are currently in.
- Collection Data - The characters you own for the iClintz Users' Character Database and for the different rankings.
- Mission Data - For the iClintz Users' mission database.
- First & Last Login Date - For statistical purposes.
Why do I follow you on first connect?
When connecting your account to iClintz for the first time, you will automatically follow me. The reason for this is so when I go onto a player's profile in UR, it gives me a rough indication as to if they are using iClintz or not, saving me some time. The other reason is so I get a notification when there is a new user on the site connected. I don't make any spot posts so there is no spam and you always have the ability to unfollow of course.
Why was the 'Selling Tool' removed?
The APIs involving market actions (sell & cancel) no longer works therefore the tool no longer works.
Why was 'My Missing Evolutions' removed?
The script was very server heavy for UR and an admin contacted me about it. Unfortunately, at the moment, I don't have the time to re-design how it works (if there is a better way). I removed it for now but it may come back in the future if there is another way.
Why is my collection worth so different than UR's official site or any other fansite?
I use the lowest market value for each card at the time of computation rather than the lowest market value for each card evolution. For example, if a full Kiki Cr was on the market for 10 000 000 clintz and a 0xp was on sale for 12 000 000 clintz, the value of your Kiki Cr at any given level will be 10 000 000 clintz. Additionally, I also check for any cards you may have in the market at the time, something other websites do not do. Prismatics are valued at their non-prismatic counterpart prices as the prismatic market is too unstable.
Why does my account language sometimes gets changed to english?
Unfortunately, this is a small side effect of the Mission DB. The reason why it happens is very simple, every mission information is given in the language that the player is connected to the official site with. To prevent the DB from having missions in mixed languages (this would be a mess), I first get the player's language, change it to english, get the player's mission information and then change the player's language back into their original language. This all happens in less than 1 second, however, if you are online during that split second, sometimes you might find your language was changed to english.
If any player is frustrated by this issue, they can contact me with their player ID, and I can prevent the Mission DB from checking your account completely therefore this problem won't affect them but will also mean their mission information won't be checked either.
Why does some mission prizes say "Unknown"?
This appears to be some kind of issue in the api preventing me from obtaining the exact prize information for some players and for some missions despite the mission being completed for them, for example, large quantity mission prizes. For those rare instances I use "Unknown" as a placeholder name for the prize.
Can you read or access my private messages?
No, this is not technically possible with the UR api, you can contact UR support if you have any doubts.
How can I get a better understanding of how a feature works?
You can contact me via pm or discord; I'm quite transparent about the algorithms or logic I use for any part of the site (features/rankings/calculations).
How can I be notified of your newest updates?
You can join the discord for updates about the site (new features & changes) or follow the thread on the UR Forum. There is also a discord bot which updates a channel with all card & mission related news directly coming from the API.
